• Monitor the retail credit queue to ensure proposals are returned to dealers quickly, efficiently and within agreed SLAs, analysing credit risk and, when necessary, contacting customers and professional bodies to obtain additional information.
• Process retail credit proposals through the Proposal Management System (Subject, Bank Validation, Open Banking and CRA check) within agreed timescales and authority levels.
• Document all completed Open Banking returns or full manual PDF bank statements accurately, update the affordability calculator with verified amounts, and report any vulnerable or fraudulent transactions to the appropriate Underwriter or Team Leader.
• Support the Underwriting team by performing additional manual and internet‑based searches, reviewing incoming information for completeness and working efficiently with the relevant Underwriter.
• Respond to calls from Agents regarding underwriting queries, building and maintaining positive professional relationships with Agents and MBFS Sales personnel to achieve departmental and company objectives. Communicate rejection decisions in compliance with data protection and contractual guidelines.
• Conduct fraud detection checks (Hunter and/or CIFAS) to verify applications and gather relevant information from potential customers.

• GCSE or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics (preferred).
• Experience in a customer‑focused administrative role.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills with an excellent telephone manner.
• General understanding of finance industry legislation including the Data Protection Act, Consumer Credit Act and Anti‑Money Laundering.
• Preferably some knowledge of MBFS product portfolio, procedures and systems (Phoenix, e‑POS, Goldmine, SAP, Word, Excel).
• Self‑motivated ability to work in a pressurised environment while maintaining focus on personal, departmental and company objectives.
