Our client is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead and strengthen their building structures team in Milton Keynes, operating within a flexible, agile and hybrid working environment designed to support a healthy work-life balance.

This is a senior leadership opportunity to shape, manage and deliver high-quality structural engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of complex projects spanning residential, logistics, retail, aviation, healthcare, education, advanced manufacturing, data centres and energy sectors. The role demands a strategic mindset, balancing architectural intent with structural integrity while addressing sustainability, material efficiency, cost control and buildability.

As a Principal Engineer, you will take ownership of project delivery from concept through to completion, providing technical leadership, overseeing design standards and mentoring engineers across the team. Working closely with the Director, you will lead multidisciplinary collaboration, manage client relationships, and ensure the commercial and technical success of projects.

You will be degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering and Chartered (or near Chartered) with significant experience in the design and delivery of foundations, masonry, reinforced concrete, steel and timber structures in accordance with Eurocodes. A strong background in residential and mixed-use developments, including framed structures and structural investigations, is highly desirable. Proficiency in industry software such as Tekla Designer, Tedds and familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit is expected.
