An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established and innovative engineering business developing advanced electro-mechanical and robotic systems for use in demanding environments. The company designs and delivers complex equipment from initial concept through to full-scale manufacture and deployment.

This is a fantastic role for an engineer looking to make a real impact, with the chance to work on technically challenging R&D projects and contribute to the design of robust, high-performance mechanical systems. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team and play a key role in taking designs from concept through detailed design, testing, and manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and develop mechanical systems and components

* Take concepts through detailed design and manufacture

* 3D CAD design, including assemblies, components, and detailed drawings

* Materials selection and structural design for demanding operating environments

* Build, assemble, and test prototypes

* Support manufacturing with technical input, troubleshooting, and design refinement

Skills & Experience Required:

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

* Proven experience in mechanical design and development of complex products

* Experience working on robotic or automated machinery

* Strong 3D CAD skills

* Good understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing techniques

* Experience with machining, fabrication, or other production processes

* Hands-on engineering skills, including prototyping, assembly, and fault finding
