Position overview:

To safely plan, direct

AMOS and manage the engineering operations in respect of the plants engineering systems, equipment and management process; provide leadership; build an effective, cohesive and committed team which will maintain maximum safety, quality and production standards.

• Responsible for all planned maintenance requirements, including unscheduled maintenance, annual maintenance and breakdowns to increase time between failures of all plant equipment.
• Ensuring maximum efficiency from all equipment and services through preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, and modifications to equipment.
• Managing all services and buildings,styrating safe storage of inflammable or dangerous materials, and ensuring compliance with safety legislation and the factories act.
• Maintaining plant registers and statutory registers, ensuring 24‑hour coverage for emergencies.
• Carrying out execution of all plant engineering projects from start to completion.
• Reviewing manufacturing performance to apply experience and knowledge of equipment for modification of current and future equipment.
• Ensuring all workshop employees are suitably trained for safety and work to company and legislative safety requirements.
• Controlling the permit‑to‑work system and ensuring that suitable and sufficient risk assessments are completed in conjunction with the EHS Manager.
• Reducing operating cost by obtaining competitive quotations for all engineering purchases and making purchasing decisions based on the best price/quality ratio in the company's interests.
• Maintaining adequate stockholding of spares and a system for issue and stock control

• Supplying the administration department with a breakdown of labour and material costs for all capital and C&A RFAs.
• Compiling budgets for capital projects and engineering expenses withεται assistance from the Head Office Engineering department.
• Checking Sort and ensuring that tooling drawings meet the required standard prior to placing of actual manufacturing and the introduction of outside manufactured tooling into production, modifying if nec as to ensure results meet company standards.
• Recruiting apprentices, training and monitoring the progress of all engineering staff.
• Monitoring and assessing contract work to ensure results meet required company standards.
• Participating in workplace inspections and being involved in project work when required.

• Degree in Engineering / Technical discipline
• Good understanding of modern lean manufacturing techniques: SMED, Kaizen, 5S, Kanban, Structured Problem solving, TPM/OEE, SPC, 6‑Sigma
• Engineering / Maintenance Supervisor experience
• Good computer skills with the ability to manage computerised data
• Strong Project Management skills
