Music Teacher - Secondary School

Milton Keynes Area
£150 - £230 per day
Full Time (4-5 days per week considered)

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join a secondary school in the Milton Keynes area
. This is a full-time role
, although applicants available for 4 days per week will also be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified teacher, an experienced instructor, or a recent graduate with strong musical knowledge to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive secondary school environment.

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and creative music lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will help students develop their musical skills, creativity, and appreciation for music through both practical and theoretical learning.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging music lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Teaching a range of musical skills including performance, composition, and music theory

  • Marking and assessing student work, providing constructive feedback

  • Supporting students with coursework and exam preparation where required

  • Encouraging student participation in music through ensembles, performances, and classroom activities

  • Maintaining strong classroom management and a positive learning environment

  • Contributing to the wider school music culture where possible (concerts, clubs, performances)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong subject knowledge in music performance and theory

  • Confidence teaching students aged 11-16

  • The ability to inspire and motivate students with different musical abilities

  • Good classroom management and communication skills

  • A passion for music education

  • Competitive daily rate of £150 - £230 per day depending on experience
