An outstanding secondary school in Milton Keynes is seeking a dynamic and passionate PE Teacher to join their successful Physical Education department from Easter or September 2026. - Curriculum Development and Planning:
Design and deliver an engaging Physical Education curriculum in line with national standards; plan inclusive lessons tailored to a range of abilities and sporting interests. - Classroom Teaching:
Deliver high-quality PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4; teach a broad range of sports and physical activities, supporting practical and theoretical elements; promote health, fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship; use a variety of teaching strategies and resources; maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment. - Assessment and Progress Tracking:
Assess student progress through practical and theoretical methods; provide constructive feedback; maintain accurate records. - Extracurricular Contribution:
Contribute to the wider life of the school through coaching and leading extracurricular sports clubs and fixtures; support inter-school competitions and school sporting events where appropriate. - Differentiation and Individualised Support:
Adapt teaching approaches to meet varying ability levels; provide targeted support and challenge to ensure all students reach their full potential. - Communication and
Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with parents and carers; work collaboratively with colleagues; participate in departmental and whole-school meetings including parents' evenings. - Professional Development:
Keep up to date with developments in Physical Education and school sport; engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice.
- A degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related subject (Master's desirable).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a PE specialism.
- Experience teaching PE at secondary level.
- Strong subject knowledge across a range of sports and physical activities.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A genuine passion for promoting physical activity and creating an inclusive, challenging learning environment.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
