We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join a welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Milton Keynes from September 2026. This is an exciting temp-to-perm opportunity, offering the chance to make a strong impact within the school and potentially secure a permanent position.
The successful candidate will inspire students to develop a curiosity about the world around them, encouraging critical thinking about environmental, social, and global issues through engaging and dynamic Geography lessons.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential).
Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity about physical and human geography topics.
Differentiate lessons to support students of varying abilities and learning styles.
Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement.
Contribute to the wider Geography department and collaborate with colleagues to develop high-quality teaching resources.
Promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
Support students in developing analytical, research, and critical thinking skills.
Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and continued professional development opportunities.
Person Specification
Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a related subject.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Geography at secondary level (KS3 and KS4).
Strong subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students in Geography.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a supportive teaching team.
A commitment to helping students achieve their full academic potential.
