Milton Keynes University Hospital has the exciting opportunity for two full‑time Clinical Oncology Consultants linked with honorary contracts to Oxford University Hospital.
These roles focus on Urology and Gynae Oncology, with an emphasis on chemotherapy and palliative radiotherapy. The post holders will support the busy, established practice within these departments, ensuring high‑quality clinical care and fostering research.
The successful candidates will share consultant responsibility for Urology, breast and gynae patients and will be an integral member of both oncology services.
Dear candidates should have completed specialist training in Clinical Oncology and hold MRCP or equivalent evidence of training and experience.
Roles and Responsibilities- Provide day‑to‑day outpatient and inpatient care and supervise patients with breast and colorectal cancer as part of multidisciplinary teams.
- Deliver radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment provisions.
- Attend weekly multidisciplinary meetings.
- Support clinical care and supervision of patients attending the Day Unit for systemic and supportive therapies.
- Develop oncology services across the organisation and participate in the recruitment to and development of cancer research studies.
- Provide inpatient care, participate in the acute oncology service, including ward rounds and inpatient advice.
- Carry out teaching, examination and accreditation duties and contribute to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activities.
- Engage in job planning, the appraisal cycle and contribute to the appraisal doctors in training.
- Provide cover for colleague leave in accordance with Trust policy and conduct suitable duties during emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
- Eng in ward coverage, supporting a 1:5 weekend cover.
- Completed specialist training in Clinical Oncology.
- MRCP or equivalent evidence of training and experience.
- Leadership, development and organisational skills aligned with Trust and division business plans.
- Experience in clinical research, including participation in cancer research studies.
- Ability to provide comprehensive, evidence‑based oncology service and manage administrative duties.
