The position of CAD Technician – Playground Design at KOMPAN Global offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a leading outdoor play and fitness solutions company. We are looking for a detail‑oriented professional who can support the design, development, and installation of innovative playground schemes through high‑quality CAD drawings and technical documentation.

Job Purpose

The role supports the design, development and installation of innovative playground schemes by producing high‑quality CAD drawings and technical documentation. It will help create efficiencies and support the sales team by developing and pricing creative concepts that meet safety standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret client briefs, site surveys, and drawings to deliver creative, functional, and cost‑effective 2D design solutions and quotations.
  • Collaborate with sales and wider design teams to ensure feasibility and compliance.
  • Ensure all drawings adhere to relevant safety standards (e.g., BS EN 1176/1177).
  • Maintain drawing archives and CAD libraries to align with KOMPAN process standards.
  • Identify and resolve design errors and design efficiencies, collaborating with internal teams through clear communication and handover.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in AutoCAD (2D essential, 3D desirable) and/or Revit (desirable).
  • Experience in landscape, architectural, or product design – preferably in playground or outdoor leisure sectors.
  • Understanding of levels and cut/fill desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
  • Knowledge of UK playground safety standards is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication, teamwork and collaborative abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Your Profile
  • Design related degree (product designer, graphic designer, interior design, etc.).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to balance technical accuracy with commercial awareness and creativity.
  • A proactive, problem‑solving mindset, always looking to improve efficiencies and positively influence KOMPAN through a collaborative approach.
  • Team player with an ambition to learn and develop new skills.
  • Sociable, helpful role model for the design team with a can‑do attitude and a positive outlook.
  • Good communicator.
  • Passion for play, outdoor environments, and inclusive design.
