About the RoleDue to continued growth we are recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager from the Plastics Industry to join our expanding team. If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding career this role could be for you! As a Business Development Manager you will play a key role in shaping our vision to be the first choice for every plastic extruded profile challenge.
Primarily you will identify sales opportunities through to conversion, ensuring commercial terms are favourable to the business.
The successful candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills and be a strong influencer and negotiator, including face‑to‑face interactions. This is an exciting opportunity to take real ownership and deliver measurable results in a growing, technically focused business.
You will manage our Hub Spot platform, oversee content creation (including photo and video editing), and work with external partners to deliver impactful campaigns.
Responsibilities- Identify plastic sales opportunities through to conversion, qualifying the customer requirements.
- Ensure commercial terms are favourable to the business, using standard die and stocking agreements where appropriate.
- Follow up on opportunities passed from marketing initiatives and collaborate with the Marketing Manager to co‑target opportunities in new markets.
- Attend marketing‑based events such as exhibitions and industry‑based events.
- Maintain the CRM (Hub Spot) for opportunities, record progress, set tasks and add key documents such as drawings.
- Report progress on leads and prospects to the Sales Director.
- Work very closely with the Marketing Manager and Customer Success team.
- Confident, experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in driving sales.
- Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to meet challenging sales targets.
- B2B field sales experience (5 years advantageous).
- 5 years experience within the plastic industry.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel regularly.
Remote role but will require occasional travel to the Head Office in Crownhill (must be commutable).
Working hours:
0900 – 1700 Monday – Thursday; 0900 – 1615 Friday.
Starting salary: £50,000 per year (depending on experience) plus uncapped commission.
