View Ray Systems designs, manufactures, and markets the MRIdian A3i® radiation therapy system. The MRIdian A3i system is designed to treat patients with the smallest radiation therapy margins available[i] with the highest patient throughput demonstrated for the most complicated cases[ii]

The MRIdian A3i system treats by aligning the sharpest radiation therapy beam on the market to diagnostic quality magnetic resonance images (MRIs) of the patient, adapts the treatment plan to the reality of the patient, and then uses the real-time MRIs to control the beam and record real-time doses delivered to the patient.

Job Description and Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced accelerator physicist to independently guide research and development of all aspects of our MRI guided radiation therapy systems. The ideal candidate should have an extensive background in the theory and practice of accelerator physics with significant expertise in the development and implementation of particle accelerator systems. Experience with linear accelerators, high-power RF systems, and radiation physics is also highly desired.

The primary responsibilities are working with the View Ray Systems, Inc. Research & Development teams to drive new product offerings and product improvements. In addition, it is expected that the accelerator physics scientist will mentor other employees to gain a better understanding of accelerator technologies. If you are an established leader in the medical physics community and are ready to contribute at a new level, this position was made for you.

Required Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Physics, Imaging Physics, Applied Math, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in accelerator development
  • Experience in both modeling and prototyping of accelerator systems
Valued Qualifications
  • Postgraduate experience in accelerator physics research and development
  • Experience with high-power RF systems

    Experience with accelerator control systems
  • Record of a distinguished academic record, i.e., peer reviewed publications and grant funding
  • Experience in radiation therapy research or clinical applications
