$18.20‑$19.00 per hour (DOE)
PurposeThe host or hostess is responsible for delivering a friendly greeting upon guests’ arrival, promptly seating them, bidding farewell, and inviting them back upon departure.
Duties & Responsibilities- Greet guests immediately upon arrival
- Inform guests that their table is ready and invite them to their table
- Carry guests’ drinks from the bar area to the table and transfer their tab if needed
- Pull out chairs and tables for guests
- Answer calls promptly and politely
- Utilize all tables on rotation to maximize turnover and maintain smooth flow
- Keep host stand well organized and stocked
- Move furniture as directed by management (tables, chairs, bar stools, etc.)
- Tour the restaurant intermittently to identify empty tables
- Respond to guest concerns, correct errors, and resolve complaints while maintaining a positive attitude; escalated to management when necessary
- Complete opening, running, and closing side‑work duties as assigned
- Assist teammates with side‑work duties when requested
- Complete additional tasks as assigned
- High school diploma preferred
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
- Valid driver’s license
- 18+ years of age
- Possess or be able to obtain required state work cards
- Minimum of one year related experience
- Familiarity with Open Table
- Proper lifting techniques
- Guest relations skills
- Sanitation and safety awareness
- Safe alcohol service knowledge
- Full‑service restaurant operations experience
- Effective communication in English, both spoken and written
- Indoor and/or outdoor work, exposure to hot or cold surfaces, steam, wet floors
- Variable noise, crowd, and smoke levels depending on guest volume
- Fast‑paced, high-volume, full‑service restaurant environment
- Work varied shifts: days, nights, weekends, holidays
- Walk and stand for long periods
- Use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls
- Repeat movements for long periods
- Understand speech and speak clearly
- Push and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
