Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Electrical Lab Technician with extensive experience in the medical device industry . The ideal candidate will support electrical testing, soldering, wire crimping, cable assembly, and laboratory validation activities in a regulated environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and hands-on expertise with electrical assemblies and test equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Lab & Testing Support
  • Perform electrical, functional, and safety testing of medical device components and systems.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain electrical lab equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, hipot testers, and continuity testers.
  • Execute test procedures and accurately document results in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Support engineering with failure analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations .
Soldering & Cable Assembly
  • Perform precision soldering and rework on PCBAs and electrical assemblies in accordance with IPC standards .
  • Execute wire crimping, cable harnessing, and connector assembly to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect solder joints, crimps, and assemblies for workmanship quality and compliance.
  • Support prototype builds, production units, and rework activities.
Documentation & Compliance
  • Follow and support FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and internal quality system procedures .
  • Maintain accurate lab records, test logs, build documentation, and deviation reports .
  • Assist with engineering change orders (ECO/ECN) and documentation updates.
  • Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.
Equipment & Lab Maintenance
  • Calibrate, maintain, and organize test equipment and lab tools .
  • Ensure lab activities comply with ESD, safety, and cleanliness requirements .
  • Identify opportunities for lab process improvements and efficiency gains.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field , or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • 7+ years of experience as an Electrical or Electronics Lab Technician, preferably in the medical device industry .
  • Certification in soldering (IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or equivalent).
  • Strong hands-on experience with wire crimping, cable assembly, and connector terminations .
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and test procedures .
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or test environment .
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and quality mindset.
