Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Electrical Lab Technician with extensive experience in the medical device industry . The ideal candidate will support electrical testing, soldering, wire crimping, cable assembly, and laboratory validation activities in a regulated environment. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and hands-on expertise with electrical assemblies and test equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Lab & Testing Support
- Perform electrical, functional, and safety testing of medical device components and systems.
- Set up, operate, and maintain electrical lab equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, hipot testers, and continuity testers.
- Execute test procedures and accurately document results in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Support engineering with failure analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations .
- Perform precision soldering and rework on PCBAs and electrical assemblies in accordance with IPC standards .
- Execute wire crimping, cable harnessing, and connector assembly to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Inspect solder joints, crimps, and assemblies for workmanship quality and compliance.
- Support prototype builds, production units, and rework activities.
- Follow and support FDA QSR, ISO 13485, and internal quality system procedures .
- Maintain accurate lab records, test logs, build documentation, and deviation reports .
- Assist with engineering change orders (ECO/ECN) and documentation updates.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits as required.
- Calibrate, maintain, and organize test equipment and lab tools .
- Ensure lab activities comply with ESD, safety, and cleanliness requirements .
- Identify opportunities for lab process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related field , or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 7+ years of experience as an Electrical or Electronics Lab Technician, preferably in the medical device industry .
- Certification in soldering (IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or equivalent).
- Strong hands-on experience with wire crimping, cable assembly, and connector terminations .
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and test procedures .
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing or test environment .
- Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and quality mindset.
