DescriptionPosition Summary: We are seeking a hands‑on Sr. R&D Technician to assist Project Engineers in the development and testing of disposable medical devices and in the documentation of the associated assembly processes for product manufacturing.
Requirements- Demonstrated ability to develop and assemble single‑use disposable medical devices.
- Assist R&D Project Engineers in the design and development of medical products.
- Assemble components and subassemblies into appropriate configurations for evaluation of characteristics and performance; must be able to assemble devices under a microscope.
- Set up and operate test fixtures and data collection systems to evaluate performance of product components, subassemblies, and final devices.
- Set up and operate test equipment, including oscilloscopes, DVM, Instron tensile tester, etc.
- Package and label disposable medical devices.
- Maintain device/component assembly operations in documented form appropriate for the DMR.
- Perform design and process validation and verification activities and document results in a lab notebook; prepare validation information for inclusion in a Design History File, e.g., formal test reports.
- Experience with transfer into manufacturing and operator training.
- Coordinate assembly activities with Quality to ensure proper documentation and surveillance.
- Coordinate and perform specified cleaning and maintenance operations in the CEA.
- High School degree or equivalent required; AA or BS degree preferred. 10+ years of relevant R&D experience required.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (Solid Works).
- Hands‑on experience with fabrication equipment (mill, lathe, laser welder, injection molding, boring, cutting).
- Familiarity with engineering materials and their fabrication and assembly methods, including geometric tolerancing, extrusion, injection molding, machining, adhesive bonding, ultrasonics, etc.
- Familiarity with standard laboratory practices and test equipment for proof of concept, development, and testing (multimeters, oscilloscopes, tensile testers, strain gauges, pressure gauges, thermocouples, bridge circuits, etc.).
- Ability to communicate ideas and information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Salary Range: $33.65/hr – $43.27/hr this posted range represents the company’s good‑faith estimate for base salary at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant factors such as skills, experience, education, and internal equity.
