Job Description /Preferred Qualifications

At KLA, cleanliness isn't just a requirement, it's a competitive advantage! Our ability to control contamination at the atomic level enables breakthrough EUV inspection systems that power the world's most sophisticated semiconductor manufacturing.

As a Precision Cleaning Manufacturing Engineer, you will own and develop ultra‑precision cleaning processes that directly enable system performance, reliability, and scalability for KLA's next‑generation reticle mask inspection platforms. This is a highly transparent role working at the intersection of sophisticated hardware, process engineering, and manufacturability-where your decisions matter.

What You'll Do

* Own the development, optimization, and sustainment of ultra‑precision cleaning processes and cleanliness standards for advanced capital equipment.

* Qualify and support precision cleaning equipment and processes to meet stringent EUV and system‑level cleanliness requirements.

* Partner closely with Design, Process, and Manufacturing Engineering teams to influence clean hardware design and ensure manufacturable, production‑ready cleaning solutions.

* Lead the introduction of new cleaning methods and technologies with scalability, adaptability, and cost of ownership in mind.

* Train and support manufacturing personnel in the accurate use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of ultra‑precision cleaning equipment and procedures.

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives passionate about cleanliness, yield, reliability, and long‑term system performance.

* Develop and maintain high‑quality technical documentation, work instructions, and best‑known methods.

* Apply statistical process control (SPC) and data‑driven techniques to monitor, control, and improve cleaning process capability.

Minimum Qualifications

* Experience as a manufacturing or process engineer supporting complex capital equipment in ultra‑clean environments (e.g., Class 100 clean rooms, AMC‑controlled environments).

* Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, understand bills of materials (BOMs), and use precision testing and measurement tools.

* Proven technical writing, documentation, and cross‑functional interpersonal skills.

* Hands‑on experience with ultrasonic cleaning systems, plasma cleaning hardware, bake chambers, and/or residual gas analyzers (RGA).

* Experience working in ultra‑clean vacuum environments.

* Knowledge of UV optical component cleanliness, cleaning, and handling practices.

* Experience applying SPC or similar methodologies in a manufacturing environment.

* Demonstrated ability to develop new processes from concept through production ramp with manufacturability and scalability in mind.

Why This Role Stands Out

* Direct impact on EUV system performance and next‑generation semiconductor technology.

* High ownership and visibility across design, manufacturing, and new product introduction.

* Opportunity to define and standardize cleanliness strategies for future platforms-not just support existing ones.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree…
