With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chip makers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.
Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented FPGA Design & Development Intern to join our hardware engineering team. In this role, you will work hands-on with FPGA platforms, digital design tools, and a variety of lab instruments to support the development, verification, and validation of advanced digital systems. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain real-world engineering experience while contributing to meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, implementation, and verification of digital logic on FPGA/CPLD platforms (e.g., Xilinx, Intel/Altera).
- Develop and modify HDL code (Verilog) for FPGA-based systems.
- Participate in simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and debugging of FPGA designs.
- Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, and protocol analyzers to validate hardware functionality.
- Work with on-chip debugging tools like Xilinx Chipscope to capture and analyze internal FPGA signals.
- Collaborate with hardware and firmware engineers to test and integrate FPGA modules into system-level designs.
- Document design work, test results, and development processes clearly and accurately.
- Support board bring-up and troubleshooting efforts.

Base Pay Range: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour based on pursuit of a Bachelors and Masters PrimaryLocation:
