Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chip makers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers.

The RAPID division is the world leading provider of reticle inspection solutions for the semiconductor industry. The company provides inspection solutions to both the mask shops and the semiconductor fabs to ensure that lithography yields are consistently high thus enabling cost-effective manufacturing.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

We are seeking serious and dedicated students who demonstrate strong academic commitment to contribute to exciting projects at our headquarter site in Milpitas, California. You will contribute directly to the development of the world-class semiconductor inspection and/or metrology tools, working on real, industry-driven projects - not just R&D or academic experiments. The position belongs to the Platform Team who is responsible for delivering the main chamber of KLA's most advanced inspection system.

As an intern, you will:

• Generate 3D CAD models of mechanical parts and assemblies
• Create and maintain engineering documentation
• Perform basic analytical modeling to support design decisions
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, such as Elec Eng, Optomech, Systems, Physics, Mechatronics and SW teams
• Procure components and materials for prototyping
• Assemble and test your designs in a laboratory setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mech/Elec/Sys Engineering or other related fields
• Completed fundamental coursework in mechanical design and possess basic skills in CAD software.
• Familiarity with PTC Creo and Ansys (Mechanical or Fluent) is a strong plus
• Exposure to vacuum systems, cleanroom protocols, or semiconductor equipment is a plus

Minimum Qualifications

At least 2-3 years completed in four year degree program

Ability to work onsite five days a week at our Milpitas, CA headquarters

Base Pay Range: $33.00 - $45.00 per hour based on pursuit of a Bachelors and Masters Primary
