  • We are seeking a senior-level Electrical Design Engineer with deep, hands-on expertise in PCBA analysis, reverse engineering, and board-level troubleshooting.
  • This role is focused on diagnosing complex failures on legacy and undocumented boards, developing structured troubleshooting and repair workflows, and creating clear documentation for downstream repair suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform board-level failure analysis and diagnostics on complex PCBAs.
  • Reverse engineer undocumented or legacy boards to understand circuit intent and behavior.
  • Analyze physical boards, identify components, and create preliminary BOMs when needed.
  • Develop structured troubleshooting methodologies to isolate and resolve failures.
  • Identify common failure modes and standardize diagnosis approaches.
  • Create step-by-step troubleshooting and repair documentation for use by repair suppliers and technicians.
  • Define technical dependencies, risk areas, and realistic repair timelines.
  • Design basic test fixtures when necessary to validate repaired boards.
  • Work independently on day-to-day problem solving while collaborating with the broader engineering team.
  • Clearly communicate findings and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support lab-based testing and occasional cleanroom activities as required.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in PCBA troubleshooting, Board-level debugging, Failure analysis, Reverse engineering
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits and system-level behavior.
  • Ability to diagnose boards without schematics or design documentation.
  • Strong experience using Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, Logic analyzers, Standard lab diagnostic tools.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to document complex technical findings in a clear, structured, and usable way.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience troubleshooting power supplies and power systems (strong plus).
  • Background in semiconductor equipment, industrial electronics, or medical devices.
  • Experience with legacy hardware platforms.
  • Exposure to sustaining engineering or failure analysis roles.
  • Experience creating troubleshooting SOPs, workflows, and repair guides.
