We are seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher to lead a Special Day Class (SDC) serving students with Mild to Moderate Support Needs in Milpitas, CA. In this role, you’ll provide individualized academic instruction, behavioral support, and foster an inclusive, engaging classroom environment that promotes student growth.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals.
- Deliver Common Core-aligned instruction in a self-contained classroom.
- Use evidence-based teaching methods and positive behavior supports.
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, para educators, and families.
- Monitor student progress through data collection and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Lead IEP meetings and ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
- Create a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom culture.
- Maintain regular communication with families to support home–school partnerships.
- Valid California Education Specialist Credential – Mild/Moderate (MMSN)
- CLAD or English Learner Authorization
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies and assistive technology
- Master’s degree in Special Education
- Experience teaching in self-contained Mild/Moderate SDC classrooms
