SAP Business Application Specialist

Overview

Arc Americas, a leader in sustainable glass solutions since 1976, serves North, Central, and South America by offering innovative products for dining, drinking, and home living. Under the direct supervision of the Business Technology Manager, this position serves as the functional expert for all Order-to-Cash (OTC) business processes. The Specialist provides Tier 2 and 3 functional support and is responsible for coordinating the full lifecycle of SAP-related changes (fixes, new features, and upgrades) using internal and external resources.

The role currently operates in an SAP ECC 6.0 environment, but the Specialist will be expected to guide and prepare the organization for future migration and optimization.

Experience with SAP S/4

HANA is highly preferred and will be a key differentiator.

• Solution Leadership: Responsible for driving key elements of SAP Order-to-Cash (OTC) projects and enhancements. Issues recommendations and makes functional and technical decisions to ensure timely delivery of efficient and cost-effective solutions.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Understands and documents complex business requirements, then coordinates the timely delivery of agreed-upon solutions across multiple teams (development, other functional consultants). Must understand the critical integration points between SD, MM, and FI.
• Advanced Support & Problem Solving: Serves as the next level of support for OTC processes after the key users. Manages, prioritizes, and resolves tickets by reproducing problems, conducting root-cause analysis, and performing configuration changes in the development and test environments. Ability to debug ABAP programs is a plus.
• Configuration & Logistics: Performs necessary system configuration, including targeted hands-on configuration in Inventory Management (IM) and Warehouse Management (WM) specifically as it directly relates to outbound delivery and picking processes.
• Change Management: Executes the full change lifecycle: creating detailed Functional Specifications (FS), defining unit and integration testing scenarios, updating documentation, and supporting end-user training and change adoption during deployment to Production (PRD).
• Project Management Support: Assists in the project governance and coordination of SAP initiatives, including leading project meetings (agendas, minutes, follow-up) and managing project communication (updates to steering committees and end-users).

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in support of SAP OTC processes.
• Active participation in at least two SAP projects (this includes both new full-lifecycle implementations or major system upgrades) and experience working with external SAP resources.
• Prior experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Good knowledge of SQL and Relational Database Theory.
• SAP certification preferred.
• Comprehensive functional knowledge of the entire SAP Order-to-Cash (OTC) process flow.
• Hands-on configuration experience across key SAP SD modules:
  Order Management, Shipping, Billing, Available to Promise (ATP), Credit Management, and Account Determination.
