Project Engineer, Civil Engineering

Ascot Pierce is partnered with a well‑established water and wastewater infrastructure contractor in New Jersey, supporting the expansion of their project delivery team.

We are seeking a Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of civil and utility construction projects across Southern New Jersey.

This opportunity is ideal for an early‑career to mid‑level construction professional looking to take on broader responsibility within a stable and growing contractor environment.

Working alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents, you will support day‑to‑day project coordination across active infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with pre‑construction planning and project setup
• Supporting material take‑offs and quantity tracking
• Reviewing drawings and specifications
• Helping manage submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings
• Supporting project schedule updates and coordination
• Assisting with permit tracking and documentation
• Supporting subcontractor scope review and buyout
• Maintaining project logs and documentation
• Conducting site visits and gathering field measurements
• Assisting with punch list and closeout processes

This role provides exposure to the full project lifecycle — from preconstruction through delivery — with clear progression toward Project Management.

• 2+ years of experience in civil, utility, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction
• Experience with pipe installation, concrete, earthwork, or site construction preferred
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience supporting project schedules (MS Project preferred, not required)
• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent field experience
• Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills
• Able to work on‑site in Vineland, NJ
