Role OverviewThe Superintendent will plan construction work and oversee daily operations on environmental remediation and earthwork construction sites. They will manage all project aspects, direct supervise crew and subcontractors, implement RECON's behavioral safety program, and ensure quality control of daily work.
Responsibilities- Supervise on-site crew and manage execution of soil and earthwork construction.
- Monitor daily progress in accordance with project schedule, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Work closely with site safety to reinforce RECON's safety culture; ensure compliance with safety plans and company policies.
- Assist project management with daily morning safety meetings on-site.
- Evaluate craft employee competencies to ensure safe heavy equipment operation and mitigate safety concerns.
- Monitor crew performance, including training, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
- Generate daily reports, document progress and production accurately.
- Prepare and track daily time sheets to align with work activity completion.
- Maintain adequate inventory of materials and heavy equipment on-site to support production deadlines and stay within budget.
- Ensure work complies with quality standards and contract scope.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations with site safety team; report issues to mitigate risk.
- Lead efforts to integrate subcontractors into RECON's high safety standards; educate and mentor team members as needed.
- Manage production goals, share input and feedback regarding overall project safety, productivity, quality of work, and financial status with the Project Manager.
- Ten or more years of construction experience, including five years of direct field supervision and crew, heavy equipment, and project oversight.
- Strong MGP remediation and ISS experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in earthwork construction, soil stabilization, environmental remediation, landfill closure projects, and/or mass excavation.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong understanding of safety related to safe operation of earth-moving construction equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) to generate daily reports efficiently.
- Ability to work on‑site in construction environments with exposure to dust, noise, and inclement weather.
- Willingness and ability to travel to job site locations as assigned; manage daily operations with monthly rotations back home.
$90,000.00–$ per year. Actual salary will be based on relevant experience, knowledge, skills, scope of job, location, and other factors permitted by law.
