Title: Manufacturing Laboratory Technician

Duration: 06 months Contract

Location: Millsboro, DE

Shift
  • 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM
  • 4th Shift: 12:00 PM - 8:30 PM

On average, the worker will rotate between two adjacent shifts per week. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on business needs.

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Laboratory Technician supports vaccine manufacturing operations within a biotechnology production environment. This role contributes to the production of high-quality animal health vaccines by performing laboratory, aseptic, and non‑aseptic manufacturing activities while adhering to GMP, SOPs, and safety requirements. The position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including cleaning floors, walls, tables, and work areas
  • Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and laboratory equipment
  • Assist with equipment setup, operation, and routine manufacturing tasks
  • Support aseptic procedures including product formulation, fill equipment setup and operation, and environmental monitoring
  • Perform formulation, filling, labeling, capping, packaging, and visual inspection of vaccines
  • Execute concurrent and accurate documentation including charts, logbooks, and GMP records
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and comply with all safety, environmental, and company policies
  • Report unusual, non‑routine, or out‑of‑specification events to supervision promptly
  • Assist with non‑aseptic procedures including handling poultry during tissue or waste harvesting processes
  • Support SOP review, development, and production record review activities
  • Enter technical and production data into required systems accurately
  • Assist with monitoring and requisitioning laboratory and manufacturing supplies
  • Participate in training classes, workshops, and meetings to improve job skills and product knowledge
  • Assist in training new team members as needed
  • Support hazardous waste handling, labeling, and management when properly trained
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education and Experience
    :
    High School Diploma or GED with relevant industry laboratory experience OR Bachelor's degree with industry or academic laboratory experience;
    Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience.
  • Required Skills
    :
    Ability to apply technical knowledge and skills to complete assigned tasks;
    Ability to recognize issues and apply established procedures to assess solutions;
    Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey information at various organizational levels;
    Ability to read, write, and comprehend technical documentation;
    Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and conversions;
    Ability to stand for extended periods of time;
    Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    :
    Experience working in aseptic or cleanroom environments;
    Laboratory experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment;
    Educational background in biology or chemistry;
    Mechanical aptitude.
