Lab Tech

Summary
This entry-level Laboratory Technician position is a critical role in the production of veterinary products. The technician will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures, maintaining aseptic techniques, and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role involves working with technical equipment, cell culture processes, and vaccine production while adhering to strict safety and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform aseptic procedures, media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, and vaccine filling.
• Maintain accurate records, including charts, logbooks, and other required documentation.
• Follow and comply with all GMP, SOPs, and safety policies.
• Report any unusual and/or non-routine occurrences during lab operations.
• Clean work areas and sterilize glassware and equipment for use.
• Set up and operate laboratory equipment.
• Work with embryonic eggs for virus propagation.
• Handle hazardous materials, including isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, phenolic disinfectants, and oxidizers.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience with some lab-based experience.

Experience

• GMP experience required.
• Scientific background/experience preferred.
• Cell culturing experience highly beneficial.
• Prior experience using SAP.
• Experience working in an aseptic/cleanroom environment.
• Proficiency in using pH meters, Uni Fuge, measuring components, and reading/following SOPs.
• Physical abilities test required before starting onsite.
• Preferred:
  Vaccine knowledge.

• Shift: Four 10-hour days per week.
