Position Title:
Electronics Technician Maintenance III
Summary
Position Summary
Performs complex maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of electronic systems, components, and equipment in support of industrial, military, or healthcare operations. Work involves applying advanced technical knowledge of electronics principles, practices, and procedures to ensure reliable and safe system performance.
Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
- Installs, maintains, and repairs electronic systems, devices, and equipment including circuit boards, sensors, controllers, communications systems, and instrumentation.
- Diagnoses malfunctions in electronic assemblies, systems, and test equipment using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
- Performs advanced troubleshooting, component-level repair, and system-level maintenance on analog and digital systems.
- Conducts preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with established schedules and technical manuals.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals to ensure proper installation and repair.
- Fabricates, modifies, or calibrates cables, harnesses, and assemblies as required.
- Ensures compliance with applicable codes, safety procedures, and quality assurance standards.
- Maintains records of maintenance actions, test results, and parts usage.
- Trains and mentors junior technicians as needed.
- Supports engineering staff in testing, evaluation, and integration of new systems and upgrades.

Education and/or
Experience:
- Associate degree in Electronics Technology or completion of a recognized electronics technician program.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electronic system maintenance and repair (military or industrial environment preferred).
- Experience with test equipment, troubleshooting procedures, and technical documentation.
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety rules, and operating instructions.
- Ability to prepare clear maintenance records and reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members.
Skills:
- Ability to work with algebra, basic trigonometry, and circuit analysis formulas.
- Ability to apply statistical methods to testing and calibration processes.
- Ability to apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex maintenance problems.
- Ability to analyze situations, identify issues, and implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
- Certification as Electronics Technician (ETA, ISCET, or equivalent) preferred.
- U.S. Government security clearance may be required depending on assignment.
- Additional military or federal certifications as applicable to contract requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, and climb as required.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and high or low temperature environments.
- Must be able to travel to job locations by automobile and/or commercial airline.
- Work may be performed in industrial, laboratory, or field environments.
- Regular exposure to electrical hazards, high noise levels, and moving machinery.
- Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions during field assignments.
- Must be able to successfully pass a federal, state, or local government background investigation if required.
- Must comply with all safety, security, and quality control procedures.
