We are seeking a School Social Worker to join our team and contribute to our mission of helping students reach their fullest potential.
Position Overview:
The School Social Worker will play a key role in supporting the social–emotional and behavioral development of students. The primary responsibilities include developing high-quality, data-driven social–emotional IEP goals and providing individual and group counseling tailored to student needs. The ideal candidate is collaborative, flexible, and passionate about working in a specialized education setting.
Primary Duties:
Develop, write, and monitor social–emotional and behavioral goals for students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Provide individual and group therapy aligned with students’ IEPs and clinical needs.
Conduct social–emotional assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary evaluations.
Collect and analyze counseling data to inform intervention and IEP progress reporting.
Additional Responsibilities:
Collaborate with teachers to support classroom management, social skills instruction, and behavior intervention strategies.
Provide in-classroom assistance as needed to help reinforce therapeutic supports.
Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with district representatives, families, and administrators regarding student progress and needs.
Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and de-escalation support.
Contribute to a positive and therapeutic school climate.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
Current state licensure (LSW/LCSW or equivalent) or eligibility for school social work certification.
Experience working with students with disabilities, emotional or behavioral needs, or in a therapeutic school setting preferred.
Strong understanding of IEP processes, behavioral supports, and trauma-informed practices.
Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and staff.
