PHARMACY/TECHNICIAN – Kroger
Job Description: Provide exceptional customer service to help people live healthier lives by treating our customers and employees in a fair and ethical manner, providing a safe, clean, inclusive environment, and being a responsible member of the community. Provide direct patient intervention by offering health and wellness services in compliance with state and federal laws. Responsibilities- Comply with local, state, and federal regulations; report all illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
- Enforce food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations per company and health code guidelines.
- Handle ordering functions with primary and secondary wholesalers.
- Follow company guidelines for computerized inventory management, control, and ordering of medications, devices, supplements, and supplies.
- Maintain departmental standards, keeping work stations and customer waiting areas clean and organized.
- Count, measure, and prepare specified products using best practices.
- Complete billing procedures to ensure best value for customer and company.
- Answer phone and triage calls and inquiries appropriately.
- Accept and tender vendor coupons, manage cash shortages, and follow shrink guidelines.
- Operate cash register and manage cashier handling policies to prevent loss (credit/debit cards, EBT, gift cards, cash, check).
- Provide stellar customer experience while completing receipt, data entry, adjudication, and dispensing steps efficiently.
- Assist pharmacist in all responsibilities except those requiring professional judgment.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies.
- Support company health and wellness initiatives.
- Put away legend orders, including Central Fill deliveries.
- Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
- Provide support through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, or older adults.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be 18 years old.
- Ability to handle highly confidential information.
- Meet minimum state requirements to perform related functions.
- Previous comparable experience.
- Equivalent experience as a pharmacy clerk.
- Familiarity with EPRN.
