HIGHLIGHTS:
- Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years as an ED RN
- Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
- Active RN License (GA) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- BCR (Basic Cardiac Rythm) required
- ACLS required
- PALS required
- TNCC - preferred, not required
- National certification - Emergency nursing - preferred but not required
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 (on a 6-week schedule)
- No call
- Holiday Expectations: work one shift of each major holiday (Thanksgiving Day or day after + 12/24 or 12/25 + 12/31 or 1/1
- RTO Requests:
Manager approval required - Shift times: 12-hour shifts - 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
- Floating:
Within ER - Orientation: 1 day orientation with work on educational modules, 2 days departmental

Beds: 22 plus surge beds - Census: 85 patients per day on average

Common ED Diagnoses to include but not limited to:
Chest Pain, Strokes, Diabetes, Abdominal Pain, MVCs, HTN, Mental Health - Skills required:
Drip management:
Heparin, Insulin, Cardene, Dopamine, Epinephrine, Fentanyl, Propofol, Levophed - Receptionist/HUC:
Unit secretary on unit - Charge nurse may or may not have patients
- Phlebotomy - Nurse draw
- IV/VAT Team: PICC coverage
- RT, 24/7
- Hospitalist, 24/7
- Intensivist, 24/7
- Telemetry monitoring/tech:
Central Telemetry in ER - nurses read strips - Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC
- IV Pump:
Alaris - Med dispensing:
Omnicell - Monitors:
