Position: Employee Health Nurse Navigator

STGi is currently seeking an Employee Health Nurse Navigator to provide services at the Georgia War Veterans Home.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to promote employee health and safety within the workplace, providing preventative care, and managing work‑related injuries and illnesses.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain employee health records and vaccines required during onboarding and yearly prerequisites.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of techniques, procedures, and correct use of protective barrier equipment (Universal Precautions).
  • Be responsible for all pre‑employment testing and vaccination processes, annual N95/TB/Influenza testing and/or vaccinations, and the management of potential blood exposures, employee illnesses and disease outbreaks.
  • Evaluate programs and implement changes as necessary to improve programs and assure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate revised plans and changes to facility management and governing body.
  • Participate in writing policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Complete necessary forms, reports, etc., and submit to the Administrator as required.
  • Teach CPR to all qualified staff.
  • Work collaboratively with other health professionals to address health issues and promote wellness in the workplace.
  • Maintain accurate health records and prepare reports on employee health trends and program effectiveness.
  • Have a strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement health promotion programs and educational initiatives.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in facility surveys as necessary or as directed.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of health and safety programs and initiatives.
  • Have strong computer and research skills to stay up to date with new developments and best practices in the field of healthcare.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to develop policies and procedures for pre‑employment and onboarding processes for employees.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Conduct employee safety rounding.
  • Conduct family tours and new employee tours.
  • Perform admission chart pre‑screenings & chart reviews.
  • Analyze medication costs prior to admission as needed.
  • Assist in the education/orientation classroom and CPR instruction.
  • Provide QAPI information on employee health.
  • Attend outside visits with the behavior team as needed; assist with calls to providers, case managers, and families.
  • Act as a family/veteran liaison guide prior to and after admission up to six weeks.
  • Provide veteran education and be a consistent point of contact to ease anxiety during the adjustment phase.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Possess sufficient previous experience in clinical healthcare including direct experience in quality assurance and performance improvement.
  • Be capable of making independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.
  • Be a supportive team member, contributing to and exemplifying teamwork and the team concept.
  • Deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the public.
  • Show leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, and handle difficult residents and staff.
  • Be willing to seek out new methods and principles and incorporate them into existing practices.
  • Have experience performing healthcare assessments and reviewing patient charts.
Required Education
  • Hold a minimum of a two‑year degree.
  • Be a Registered Nurse.
Working Conditions /

Physical Requirements
  • Work in office areas as well as throughout the facility and its premises.
  • Experience frequent interruptions.
  • Interact with residents, family members, personnel, and visitors under all conditions/circumstances.
  • Work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
