About the Role
The Engineering Technician - R&D position supports the company for all production, engineering, and R&D needs. This position spans from processing production material to evaluating new processes for R&D projects, programs, and new product offerings. This position works hand in hand with multiple departments and will be responsible for learning current manufacturing processes, training production personnel on newly developed processes, as well as executing R&D tests and properly recording any data necessary.
The R&D team member will be responsible for the systematic collection, analysis, documentation, and reporting of experimental and project-related data. This includes ensuring accuracy, traceability, and integrity of all collected data in accordance with company standards and applicable regulatory or quality requirements.
What You Get to Do
- Ensure timely collection of experimental data in compliance with established methods and standards.
- Maintain organized documentation and perform basic analysis to support reproducibility, technical decision-making, and cross-functional communication
- Ensure production readiness of all newly developed processes
- Process parts as needed to meet customer technical requirements and timelines
- Process engineering and R&D prototypes in support of new customer acquisition
- Collaborate with Engineers to develop new processes that meet business needs
- Troubleshoot production processes as needed
- Crosstrain production personnel
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
- High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree of Science or similar preferred
- Position requires working with chemicals, measuring devices, analytical equipment, and microscopes.
- Must have previous experience working in a similar laboratory or production environment.
- Previous experience in analysis, characterization, and research environment preferred.
- Must be able to work independently and demonstrate very high levels of precision and accuracy.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
