Learn the company's financial operations by successfully completing the training program, which includes on-the-job training, classroom training, and shadowing corporate functions outside of Finance. Trainees will learn basic principles of Finance through job rotations across the Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis, Enterprise Risk Management, and Reinsurance groups. A trainee will be expected to learn the business and support more experienced finance professionals.
All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Note:
(For NJ candidates) This role will be located at our future headquarters in Short Hills, N.J. Until the new headquarters is operational, the successful candidate will be offered the ability to work in our Branchville, N.J. location during this interim period.
- Apply cash receivables, returns, adjustments for Billing and Reinsurance, working items timely and with accuracy
- Perform various Treasury duties such as unclaimed property administration, travel & entertainment expense administration, bank positive pay reconciliations, cash deposits, remote deposit, cash reconciliations, and other reconciliations/validations and analysis
- Assist with 90-day cash forecasting on a daily basis
- Support Financial Planning processes around quarterly forecasts and/or Annual Budget preparation
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Review financial statements and reports for accuracy
- Assist with external reporting to state insurance departments and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners
- Advise management of any unusual trends, budget variances, difficulties obtaining information or other pending issues
- Assist in various analyses pertaining to reinsurance program experience and financial reviews of counter parties
- Compile, test, and analyze data related to both property and casualty exposures; assist in research and monitoring of emerging risk issues and trends
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers/peers
- Must show sound, balanced, and timely decision-making skills
- Knowledge of accounting and finance terminology and general application
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and Access applications
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Risk Management, Economics preferred
