Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Short Hills, New Jersey. This role is essential for maintaining accurate financial records, adhering to accounting principles, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hybrid work environment and contribute to the preparation of financial reports and reconciliations.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze and maintain general ledger account balances to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Prepare monthly financial statements and accounting summaries in compliance with GAAP and statutory regulations.

- Conduct reconciliations for various accounts and ensure proper documentation.

- Record and monitor financial transactions following established accounting principles.

- Develop and present financial reports to support managerial decision-making.

- Collaborate on accounting projects and recommend process improvements.

- Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

- Allocate costs and determine expenses for services.

- Suggest new accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

- 1-3 years of experience in financial accounting or a related field.

- Proficiency in spreadsheet software, particularly Excel.

- Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles.

- Familiarity with automated or manual accounting systems.

- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

- Ability to communicate effectively and manage multiple tasks.

- Understanding of accounting compliance and regulatory standards.
