Position: OR Nurse (RN) | Millbrook, Alabama
A dynamic opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Operating Room nursing. This contract position involves providing expert perioperative care across a range of surgical specialties at a well-equipped, Level II Trauma Center with a Level III NICU and Primary Stroke Center designation.

The position offers 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, totaling 36 hours per week, with a weekend rotation requiring on-call availability Friday through Sunday. The role demands versatility across multiple surgical areas, including General Surgery, Trauma (excluding burns), Orthopedics with an emphasis on total joint procedures, Neuro, ENT, Vascular including endovascular interventions, Gynecology, Urology, Robotics (Mazor and Da Vinci XI systems preferred), Plastics, and Ophthalmic cases.

Candidates will serve as circulating nurses with a one-to-one patient ratio, ensuring focused and individualized patient care.

Key Qualifications and

Experience:

• Minimum of two years RN experience; first-time travelers with at least 2 years experience are welcome.
• Proficiency in circulating duties within the Operating Room across the mentioned specialties.
• Strong clinical background in trauma and orthopedic spine cases.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Familiarity with robotic surgical systems preferred.
• Experience with Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Collaborate with OR team members including OR Assistants, Charge Nurses, and Team Leaders.
• Participate in orientation program including day shifts and buddy call.
• Support weekend on-call coverage and holiday shifts as per contract requirements.
