Glen Oaks Montessori is a family-run, well-established Montessori school serving Peninsula families since 1993. We are committed to authentic Montessori education and to nurturing independence, confidence, and joyful learning in a warm, multicultural community.
In addition to our core Montessori curriculum, our students participate in peace education, music, Spanish, and gardening as part of their daily experience.
We are seeking an experienced Montessori Primary Lead Teacher (ages 2–6) to join our collaborative, close-knit team.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Who You Are- An AMS or AMI credentialed Montessori educator
- An experienced classroom leader (minimum two years in a 2–6 environment)
- A strong team player who values collaboration and shared problem-solving
- Confident in overseeing the full classroom environment
- Skilled in classroom management rooted in Montessori principles
- Calm, warm, and consistent in your leadership
- Excited about guiding young children toward independence and concentration

What You’ll Do- Prepare and maintain an authentic Montessori environment tailored to the developmental needs of your students
- Present individualized and small-group lessons while maintaining a clear, attentive overview of the full classroom
- Co‑teach our afternoon enrichment class, offering hands‑on activities for a small group of children
- Confidently oversee the classroom, maintaining consistency, calm, and strong classroom management
- Observe, assess, and thoughtfully document student progress
- Lead parent conferences twice per year
- Collaborate daily with co‑teachers and the director
- Ensure compliance with state licensing and health standards
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families
- AMS or AMI Primary credential
- At least two years experience in a Montessori 2.5–6 classroom
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead a classroom of up to 18 students with confidence and consistency
- Commitment to authentic Montessori philosophy
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Ability to sit on the floor, bend, stoop, and move actively throughout the classroom
- Comfort working indoors and outdoors in typical Bay Area weather
