You will have the opportunity to grow and learn through consistent, quality training and apply your learning through direct hands-on experience.
- Provide personal fitness training to clients requesting service under supervision; maintain personal schedule at the front desk; enforce rules and regulations pertaining to safety and well-being of patrons; keep fitness floor tidy and clean.
- Ensure participant needs are met through personal recognition and by providing quality service and group fitness classes.
- Provide corrective feedback and proper technique.
- Maintain class records and reports as required.
- Assume assigned duties connected with care and maintenance of the facility; basic equipment care and maintenance.
- Enforce all rules and regulations; respond professionally to emergencies and provide care as indicated under the scope of training.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other city employees, other agencies, and the public.
- Attend and participate in required staff trainings and in-service drills; communicate clearly both orally and in writing in English.
Any combination of education, training, and experience likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities.

- Candidates receiving a conditional job offer must pass a pre-placement fingerprint review.
- Employee must satisfactorily complete an evaluatory period before obtaining regular status.
- Candidates must possess a current CPR/AED and First Aid certificate and be comfortable calling 911 in an emergency.
- Certifications – Has certifications or is willing to obtain certifications within 2 weeks of obtaining job.
- Availability to work flexible hours outside of a typical workday (weeknights and weekends).
- Customer service oriented (patient and responsive).
- Attention to detail; prompt and timely.
- Enjoys getting moving and away from the desk while working.
