Muir Woods National Monument and Muir Woods Trading Company was originally established as a national monument in 1908 by President Theodore Roosevelt. The park was named in honor of the revered naturalist John Muir, who declared the site was “the best tree-lover’s monument that could possibly be found in all the forests of the world.” In the Trading Company we provide a place for visitors to stroll and select products that have been procured honoring the legacy of John Muir.

Our products reflect the conservation, sustainability and ecological identity of the site.

Summary of Position: Responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages in accordance with recipes and established Company standards to deliver extraordinary hospitality.

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty drinks with consistency and care.
• Greet customers warmly, take orders accurately, and process payments using point of sale system.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee preparation area, equipment, and seating areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, and quality control guidelines.

• Previous barista or food service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Basic knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment.

This role involves standing for extended periods, occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
