Responsibilities

• Greet, engage, and assist customers actively.
• Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Understand and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, handling various tenders and coupons according to company policy.
• Adhere to cash management policies and work to control loss.
• Follow guidelines on restricted sale items (Alcohol, Tobacco, DVDs).
• Report pricing discrepancies and follow policies for postage stamps, gift cards, and coupons.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Follow food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions about products.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Work effectively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity.
• Assist customers with special needs, minors, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)

Desired Previous Job Experience

• Experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
