Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented IT Field Specialist to provide technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for IT systems at various company locations (Dealerships). The ideal candidate will be experienced in hardware, software, and networking support and comfortable working independently in a field-based role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and support hardware (computers, printers, network devices, etc.) and software at client sites or internal locations.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues onsite or remotely.
- Maintain and update system documentation, service records, and reports.
- Collaborate with the central IT team to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Provide training and technical guidance to end-users as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades on systems and equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, security standards, and best practices.
- Travel to different sites or client locations as required (sometimes at short notice).
- Set up and support AV equipment, conference rooms, and mobile devices.
- Assist in inventory tracking of IT assets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience field technician role.
- Proficiency with Windows and/or macOS environments.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and common business applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly.
- Industry certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, etc.).
- Experience with IT ticketing systems (e.g., Service Now, Jira, Zendesk).
