What You Will Do

As a Full‑Time Firefighter‑Paramedic, you will provide fire suppression, hazardous materials response, rescue operations, and emergency medical services. You will operate within the Incident Command System, adhere to protocols and policies, and serve not only Miami Township but also neighboring jurisdictions. Under the guidance of the Medical Director, you will advocate for patients who cannot speak for themselves. In the absence of an officer, you will take charge as the initial incident commander, demonstrating leadership and quick decision‑making.

Your role includes promoting good public relations through community engagement and education, and you may assist as a company officer, manage daily station operations, and collaborate on projects and initiatives.

What You Need To Be Successful

Prospective candidates must have a strong comprehension of technical data, the ability to follow written instructions and verbal orders, and computer literacy in Microsoft Office. A high school diploma or equivalent, a valid state‑issued driver’s license, State of Ohio certifications as a Firefighter I or II and EMT‑Basic or Ohio EMT‑Paramedic are required. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to think critically under stress are essential.

Knowledge and Skills Required for the Position
