The Teen Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of a broad range of teen programs and outreach activities throughout the organization and community in the areas of Education and Career Development, Character and Leadership Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Sports, Recreation, and Fitness. This position will plan, schedule, implement, supervise, and evaluate the daily operations of after-school programs, Teen Night Events, and community outreach activities.

The position is also responsible for generating positive public relations, collaborating with school-based programming, and increasing teen participation in programs.

KEY ROLES (Essential

Job Responsibilities )
  • Establishes and implements teen after-school program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission to provide high-quality programming.
  • Establishes and implements teen outreach programs consistent with organizational goals and missions.
  • Establishes and maintains BGCA Charter Documentation for Torch and Keystone Clubs.
  • Increases visibility of Club teen programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events, and the dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotion through mailings, fliers, and media releases.
  • Coordinates youth candidate activities for Youth of the Year programs.
  • Participates in trauma-informed/responsive practices and standards of the Club.
Prepare Youth for Success
  • Ensures programs, services, and activities that prepare youth for success, promoting the safety of members and high-quality programs at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Contributes to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by:
    • Planning, organizing, and implementing a range of program services and activities for teen after-school members.
    • Planning, organizing, and implementing a range of outreach services and activities for teens to increase participation and impact.
    • Initiating new programs with the approval of the Director of Prevention Services.
    • Recommending the development of service area programs; and
    • Promoting and stimulating program participation.
  • Ensures quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests, and participating in Club staff meetings.
  • Collaborates with local schools to provide evidence-based or evidence-informed programming.
  • Promotes media literacy.
Health and Safety
  • Develops program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of teen members.
  • Ensures a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in the program area.
  • Provides trauma-informed behavior support as necessary.
  • Manages facilities and ensures a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order. Recommends requisitions, as necessary, controlling expenditures against the monthly supply budget.
Program Development and Implementation
  • Plans, delivers, and oversees the administration of teen after school programs, and recordkeeping/implementation and evaluation of activities that support Youth Development Outcomes.
Supervision
  • Assists with orientation, evaluation, and in-service training of program staff and volunteers, as well as recruits new volunteers for programs.
  • Provides day-to-day guidance to program-related staff.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • May participate in and/or lead special programs and/or events.
  • May be required to drive the Club van.
  • May be required to work some occasional weekend hours.

This position is full-time / non-exempt.
