About the RoleWe're looking for a skilled and detail-driven Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Hopedale, MA. This fully on‑site position focuses solely on electrical design, perfect for someone who thrives on taking projects from concept to completion, without involvement in programming.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical systems and layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
- Specify and design systems utilizing Allen Bradley PLCs and HMIs
- Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts
- Manage the full design lifecycle—from initial concept through final documentation
- Select and specify components such as circuit breakers, relays, contractors, and motor starters
- Design control panels and ensure seamless integration with field devices
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and alignment with project goals
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications
- Provide technical support and assist with documentation during the design phase
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical design, especially in industrial automation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and other design tools
- Strong knowledge of PLC and HMI systems, particularly Allen Bradley
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC), UL508A, and other relevant standards
- Experience creating Bill of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
- Ability to work independently and manage design tasks from start to finish
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication and documentation abilities
- Experience specifying control components and systems
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and best practices
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Modbus)
- Experience with power distribution and load calculations
- Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and documentation
