Registered Nurse-Pre-Op​/PACU

Overview

Pre-Op/PACU RN (Full-Time) – Connecticut Eye Surgery Center South, Milford, CT

The position is full-time, 36 plus hours per week, Monday – Friday. The staff nurse will work cooperatively with team members and physicians and perform a variety of tasks related to pre-operative and post-anesthesia care, including patient preparation for procedures, administration of eye drops, IV placement, post-anesthesia recovery, pain management, and patient education.

• Prepare patients for procedures in the ophthalmology setting
• Administer eye drops as prescribed
• Place and manage intravenous lines
• Provide post-anesthesia recovery and monitoring
• Manage patient pain and comfort
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and post-care instructions

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current Connecticut registered nurse license
• Proficiency in nursing assessment and clinical skills
• Positive, energetic team player with strong communication and prioritization abilities
• Strong decision-making skills
• Ophthalmology experience is preferred but not required
• BLS and ACLS certification current
• Must pass background check and drug screen
