Pre-Op/PACU RN (Full-Time) – Connecticut Eye Surgery Center South, Milford, CT
The position is full-time, 36 plus hours per week, Monday – Friday. The staff nurse will work cooperatively with team members and physicians and perform a variety of tasks related to pre-operative and post-anesthesia care, including patient preparation for procedures, administration of eye drops, IV placement, post-anesthesia recovery, pain management, and patient education.
Responsibilities- Prepare patients for procedures in the ophthalmology setting
- Administer eye drops as prescribed
- Place and manage intravenous lines
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery and monitoring
- Manage patient pain and comfort
- Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and post-care instructions
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current Connecticut registered nurse license
- Proficiency in nursing assessment and clinical skills
- Positive, energetic team player with strong communication and prioritization abilities
- Strong decision-making skills
- Ophthalmology experience is preferred but not required
- BLS and ACLS certification current
- Must pass background check and drug screen
