Medical Assistant (MA, EMT) - Cardiology

Location: 205 Sub Way Dr Milford (10424)

Shift: Monday-Friday (8a-4:30p)

Hartford Health Care Medical Group provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The Medical Assistant will experience continued training in all aspects of the MA role.

• Provides direct patient care under the direction of the provider, including vitals, allergy/medication reconciliation, screenings, placing event monitors, patient history, health maintenance, advance directives, and virtual health.
• Provides indirect patient care related to scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, chart preparation and prior authorizations. Conducts point-of-care testing including quality control and documentation.
• Performs administrative duties and covers front desk based on business needs.
• Floats to other offices based on business needs.

• Education:
  
  Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR related experience.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire or transfer date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

• In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of direct patient care experience (acute or ambulatory) may be considered.
• Relevant MA externship in a busy medical office preferred.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.
