The RN provides care that establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients and families, collaborates effectively with the healthcare team, and ensures quality outcomes.

Responsibilities- Standards of Practice:
Apply the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015) to deliver competent nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinate care transitions and employ health teaching and promotion strategies. - Standards of Professional Performance:
Engage in professional role activities—ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. Lead within the professional practice setting and the profession, and contribute to quality nursing practice.
- Education:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred. Current BCLS certification required or obtained within one month of hire. - Experience:
Registered Nurse foundational role. All RNs encouraged to advance through the SPIRE clinical advancement program. - License:
Licensed and a currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged. - Special
Skills:
Clinical advancement encouraged; additional specialty certifications may be beneficial. - Physical Demand:
Requires prolonged standing, walking, use of sight, hearing, and touch. May be exposed to infectious diseases and end-of-life conditions. Must assist in pushing, pulling, and lifting patients ranging from five (5) to three hundred (300) pounds. - Additional Information:
Emergency RN experience preferred.
