Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of patients in a variety of inpatient and/or outpatient areas as assigned. Performs other clinical, teaching and administrative duties as may be required.

Responsibilities- Clinical
- Able to interpret physician referrals to perform basic clinical evaluations.

- Attends department in‑services.
- Administration
- Complies with Hospital and Department Policies and Procedures.
- Clinical Supervision
- Participates in regular meetings with supervisor and/or team leader and reports pertinent information on a timely basis.
- Human Relations Skills
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsive and courteous hospital environment.
Education
Graduate of a CAPTE accredited program in Physical Therapy.
Experience
No experience required, but 1 to 2 experience in an academic medical center based practice preferred. Experience working with children and/or adults depending on the assigned setting. Clinical experience with a variety of diagnoses to include post-surgical, developmental, neurological, genetic, oncologic and traumatic.
License
Must maintain a current unrestricted license or temporary permit to practice as a Physical Therapist in CT.
Special Skills
The candidate should demonstrate knowledge in physical therapy theory, evaluations, and treatment techniques to be applied to a diverse patient population of varying ages. Observation skills, communication skills (both verbal and written), and an ability to work with patients, families and other providers in a synergistic manner are essential. The candidate should also be willing and able to assume increased responsibilities as required.
Demonstrates a high level of independence and leadership in assigned clinical area. Communication and interpersonal skills must be at a level to effectively work with a broadly diverse patient population and workforce.
Physical Demand
Requires exposure to blood and body fluids, hazardous materials and communicable diseases; long periods of standing and walking; lifting and positioning of patients.
