Mechanical Design Engineer III

The Design Engineer III leads substantial portions of precision mechanical programs and begins assuming system-level ownership. This role bridges independent execution and technical leadership while maintaining a strong focus on design excellence.

• Lead design of complex assemblies and system-level layouts.
• Define load paths, interface strategies, and material selections.
• Drive tolerance strategy and alignment stability planning.
• Collaborate closely with the Analysis Engineering team to ensure structural, thermal, and dynamic performance requirements are met.
• Review analysis results and drive iterative design improvements.
• Participate in client-facing design reviews.
• Mentor Engineer I and II team members.
• Contribute to internal process improvements and technical standards.
• Occasional travel required.

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of precision mechanical design experience.
• Strong background in electronic packaging or electro-optical systems preferred.
• Advanced GD&T and tolerance analysis capability.
• Experience working in aerospace or other high-reliability industries preferred.
• Experience developing and building prototype hardware, including exposure to manufacturing processes and hands‑on machinery or tooling preferred.
