The Direct Payments Recipient is the employer and holds all employer responsibilities for this role.

• Provide companionship and social interaction in the client’s home.
• Encourage the client to attend medical, social care and other appointments.
• Ensure the client’s safety during working hours.
• Support the client to make decisions around care needs and maintain independence.
• Prepare and heat meals and meet nutritional and fluid needs.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks requested by the client.
• Safeguard the client, report concerns to the relevant authority and be mindful of safeguarding issues.
• Contact GP, Social Worker or Local Authority if the client requires medical assistance.

• Caring, patient and responsible.
• Honest, proactive and self‑motivated.
• Good local knowledge.
• Good timekeeping and flexibility around working patterns and duties.
• Able to develop a supportive and consistent relationship.
• Full, clean driving licence and use of a car; business use on vehicle insurance required.

• 5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro rata).
• SSP rate sick pay.
• Training provided if required.
