About the Company
Our client is a world-leading innovator in advanced, non-lethal training solutions for defence and law-enforcement sectors worldwide. Their cutting-edge technology enables professionals to “train as they fight,” delivering highly realistic and immersive force-on-force training. Due to continued growth and ongoing development projects, we are supporting them in the recruitment of an experienced CNC Milling Technician to join their highly skilled manufacturing team.
The Role
This is a key position within a fast-paced production environment, primarily focused on CNC milling operations to support the manufacture of complex tooling components and new product conversion projects. The role also involves occasional support of wire and spark erosion processes as required. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple departments to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery across production and development activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Set, operate and program CNC milling machines to manufacture complex tooling and precision components.
* Support production and development teams with prototype conversions, fixtures and further machining requirements.
* Work closely with senior management, engineering and tooling teams to prioritise workload in line with production demands.
* Assist the tool repair team to ensure production-critical tooling is returned to service efficiently.
* Carry out rework or modification of components to meet exact engineering specifications.
* Provide support to wire and spark erosion operations when required, ensuring minimal disruption to overall production flow.
* Perform routine machine maintenance and basic fault-finding to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* A disciplined, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with colleagues at all levels.
* Significant hands-on experience programming and running CNC milling machines in a production or tooling environment.
* Previous experience with wire and/or spark erosion machining (beneficial but not essential as a primary skill).
* Excellent attention to detail with the ability to read and interpret both metric and imperial engineering drawings.
* Strong all-round engineering knowledge and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
