Position: Senior Software Engineer - Red Hat OpenShift Cluster Infrastructure (EMEA)
The Open Shift Cluster Infrastructure team is a specialized engineering group that plays a pivotal role in bridging Open Shift's capabilities with major infrastructure service providers. They architect and maintain the critical integration layers that enable Open Shift clusters to seamlessly interact with and leverage cloud-native services across Azure, AWS, GCP, and other platforms. By harnessing the power of Cluster API, they implement declarative infrastructure management that allows organizations to provision, scale, and operate Open Shift clusters consistently across diverse environments.

The team develops and enhances cloud-specific controllers and operators that automate complex infrastructure operations, ensuring optimal resource utilization and high availability while maintaining security and compliance with enterprise requirements. Working at the intersection of Open Shift's container platform and provider infrastructure services, these engineers contribute to both upstream open source projects and downstream enterprise solutions. They collaborate to implement new features, optimize performance, and ensure reliability of cloud-specific integrations.

Through their work with technologies like cloud-controller-manager, they enable Open Shift clusters to efficiently manage resources such as load balancers, and networking, and other components, while maintaining the platform's vendor-neutral architecture. This team's expertise ensures that organizations can confidently deploy and manage Open Shift clusters at scale across any environment, supporting the hybrid cloud strategy that is central to modern enterprise operations.

What you will do:

* Design, implement, and maintain distributed systems components, with a focus on test-driven development and CI/CD.

* Collaborate across Open Shift engineering, QE, Docs, Support, and upstream open source communities.

* Provide technical leadership in code reviews, integration tests, and mentoring junior engineers.

* Create design documentation and proof-of-concept solutions for new features.

* Own and support components in production, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

* Contribute to upstream Kubernetes SIGs and review community patches.

What you will bring:

* Proficient in Golang is mandatory

* Strong understanding of distributed systems and Kubernetes architecture, activities in OSS comunities are welcome

* Experience to develop Kuberntes operators

* Experience with containers and Linux systems.

* Skilled in CI/CD, build tools, and version control (Git, Git Hub/Git Lab).

* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus

* Familiarity with highly available systems (e.g., failover, monitoring, alerting) is a plus
