Position: P2026-092 IBM WebSphere Application Server
We are recruiting for one of our clients a IBM Web Sphere Application Server (WAS) System Administrator / Expert Role. We are looking for a senior IBM Web Sphere Application Server (WAS) System Administrator / Expert, with hands‑on, day‑by‑day operational experience on IBM middleware environments. This is a strongly system‑oriented role. Profiles with only generic Java or application‑level exposure to WAS will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, configuration and administration of IBM Web Sphere Application Server in enterprise environments

Management of WAS Network Deployment (ND) architectures:
Cell, Deployment Manager, Node / Node Agent, Clusters, JVM, thread pool and connection pool tuning and optimization

Configuration of security (SSL, certificates, LDAP integration)

Performance monitoring and advanced troubleshooting on production issues

Support to upgrade and migration activities across WAS versions

Close collaboration with infrastructure and application teams in mission critical contexts

Mandatory Technical Requirements

At least 3–4 years of hands‑on, proven experience as WAS System Administrator

Strong, practical experience on IBM Web Sphere Application Server (WAS 8.5.x / 9.0 Network Deployment)

Solid experience on Linux / Unix environments

Log analysis and root cause analysis

High availability and enterprise‑grade setups

Experience in regulated, enterprise environments (banking / financial services is a plus)

Nice to Have

Experience with IBM HTTP Server (IHS)

Experience with IBM MQ

Familiarity with automation and scripting (bash, wsadmin)

Certifications (strongly preferred)

IBM Certified System Administrator – Web Sphere Application Server

Other IBM middleware certifications
